We don’t get a ton of sunny days where I live. Especially in the winter. So, when the sun was out, smiling its sunshiny smile at the world, I took full advantage. (I know the previous sentence is a bit lot corny, but I was exposed to sunshine today. I couldn’t help myself). Never mind that it was below 32 degrees, or that we had to dodge some icy patches on the sidewalk. We were going to walk today!
Since winter started, The Munchkin has been on about zero walks, so the moment was extra special.
Here is my MOMent:
The Munchkin is wearing no less than four different layers of clothes, plus two blankets, a hat and mittens. I’m still worried that she’s not going to enjoy our little adventure because of the cold and neurotically tuck and re-tuck the blankets around her before we stroll our way out of the garage and into the sun. The minute we start moving though, I know the choice to brave the cold was the right one. She begins kicking her legs and waving her arms with excitement. A grin spans her face from one pink cheek clear across to the other and disappears in chubby little dimples. She shrieks in joy throughout our little trip around the block, her little legs kicking the entire time. Everything is new and it’s all exciting to her. It inspires me to appreciate the little things. Like sunshine. And walks with my little girl.
